Dr. Matthias Wurm is an attorney at Schlun & Elseven Rechtsanwälte PartG mbB. Specialising in commercial law, arbitration and litigation, he offers comprehensive legal advice and representation to private individuals and companies in all related legal matters across Germany.
Dr. Wurm is an experienced litigator who has conducted numerous court proceedings, successfully enforcing his clients’ rights and interests thanks to his expertise and commitment. As head of our Middle East desk, Dr. Wurm handles cross-border legal disputes. He regularly represents international companies in debt collection disputes with contractual partners and customers and dealings with German authorities. He has obtained favourable judgments and multi-million settlements for his clients in arbitration proceedings and legal disputes before German courts.
Before it comes to a legal dispute, Dr. Wurm offers his legal advice for out-of-court settlements. In cases where the conflict cannot be resolved out of court, Dr. Wurm will also represent you in court to enforce your disputed claims or defend against unjustified claims.

Dr. Wurm focused his academic career on forming and managing companies and corporate governance in common law.
Dr. Wurm completed his Master of Laws in Corporate Governance and Financial Law at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. His doctoral thesis, The Legal Assessment of Investor Dialogues – A Comparative Analysis, was published in April 2021 in the series Forum Unternehmens-, Steuer- und Bilanzrecht (Corporate, Tax and Accounting Law Forum) by the renowned Peter Lang publishing house. One of the topics covered in the thesis is an examination of the United Kingdom Corporate Governance Code and the legal transfer of the provisions contained therein into German law.
