It has been brought to our attention that emails containing notice letters in fictitious matters are currently being sent in the name of “Mr. Jens Schlun.” These emails are fake and do not originate from Mr. Tim Schlun or any other employee of this law firm.
Information for Addressees: Letter of Notice in the Matter “Hidrivecloud”
In the subject of the email, the fictitious matter “Hidrivecloud ./. …” is named. Next to that appears your name. The email contains a warning that previous instructions have not been followed. You are asked to comply as soon as possible, and for that purpose, they ask you to contact the sender of the email.
Please regard the following:
- Do not, under any circumstances, reply to this email.
- If the email contains further links, do not open them.
- Delete the email.
We want to clarify that Mr. Tim Schlun is not the sender of this email.
“Hidrivecloud: Why Do the Fraudsters Avoid Using the Exact Name?”
Whoever has clicked through our law firm’s page will realise that the attorneys at law, Tim Schlun and Jens Schmidt, work at this firm. But why do third parties not use the name “Tim Schlun” to improve the deception?
Based on our prior experience, this tactic is used to hinder deletion attempts with the sender’s domain provider. In the absence of a name match, it becomes significantly more challenging to prove identity falsification and its direct impact on us.
