I faced a severe immigration crisis: my Blue Card was revoked, leaving my stay in Germany illegal, and two immigration offices were completely unresponsive for months, jeopardizing an urgent family reunification deadline. Feeling concerned about the future of the United States back in 2022 (rightfully so given where we are now in 2025!!) I began the process of considering trying to obtain German Citizenship through my father who had fled Nazi persecution in the late 1930s.
